    Let's be friends!

It’s the Nordic blood in me. ❄️ Ironically, It’s the Nordic blood in me. ❄️

Ironically, we did happen to “escape the cold” during this winter Rocky Mountain National Park trip. It was -45 at home and literally 70 degrees warmer in the Colorado mountains hahaha.
Here’s our EXACT 3-day itinerary for Kyoto, Japa Here’s our EXACT 3-day itinerary for Kyoto, Japan, including our bullet train travel day. 🇯🇵 And, honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Tips…

Go to Fushimi Inari Shrine and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest as soon as it starts to get light out in the morning (I’m talking like 5:30 a.m.) if you want any shot at taking photos without crowds!

Also… The monkey park was my favorite. 🙊
Lack of oxygen was worth it. Location: Trail Ridg Lack of oxygen was worth it.

Location: Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park

Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous paved road in the USA, peaking at over 12,180 feet of elevation. 🤯 As you could imagine, the road closes to vehicle traffic during the winter because of snow. BUT, you can still hike, snowshoe or cross-country ski on it in the winter!

We rented skis at Estes Park Mountain Shop, parked at the Many Parks Curve Overlook parking lot and skied away. ⛷️

Would you ski here?

This whole weekend we joked that we were “escaping the cold” on this winter Rocky Mountain National Park trip because it was around 25 degrees Fahrenheit there and -45 degrees in Wisconsin.

All of the Denver locals were like, “You picked a cold week to be here.” And we were like, “No no… We picked the perfect weekend to be here.” 🤣

Tropical vacation for a Wisconsinite.

Oasis Of The Seas Pictures Of The Ship

With the capacity to hold nearly 6000 passengers and staff, the Oasis Of The Seas ship is practically a city, fully equipped with numerous restaurants, cafes, bars, theaters, plus a massive gym and spa.

Even though it may take you a couple of days to become familiar with the ship’s layout, there’s no doubt that you’ll become obsessed with the elevated sailings this ship offers.

Oasis Of The Seas Pictures Of The Pool Deck

The ship’s pool deck, which is located on the 15th deck, has a large variety of family-friendly pools, splash pads, hot tubs, as well as adult-only pools and hot tubs in the Solarium.

You can rent towels on the pool deck, so you don’t have to worry about packing your own pool towels. Moreover, there are a few bars scattered around the deck so you’ll never be thirsty.

Oasis Of The Seas Pictures Of Activities & Entertainment

In addition to the many pools, this Royal Caribbean ship also boasts a vast array of activities at sea.

Between the free activities included in your fare, such as rock climbing, zip lining, flow riding, game room access, ice skating, gym access, and free fitness and dance classes, and the extra activities you can pay to enjoy, such as the pool deck day bed rentals and escape room, you’ll never be bored while on board.

Similarly, the Oasis Of The Seas staff are top tier entertainers, showcasing nightly comedian acts, Broadway shows, professional figure skating shows, balloon-drop parties and more.

Oasis Of The Seas Pictures Of Formal Nights

Royal Caribbean is known for its epic, glamorous formal nights. On these designated formal nights, all passengers dress in their best attire: suits, ties, tuxedos, heels and evening gowns. I highly recommend participating in the formal fun.

Packing for longer sailings with multiple formal nights can be a challenge, though. So, if you need a few cruise packing tips, check out my guide to pack for a cruise in a carry-on only.

Oasis Of The Seas Pictures Of Food

One incredible part of the formal nights, and critical part of the entire cruise experience, is the iconic all-inclusive food.

While some restaurants on board do cost an extra fee, I can assure you that the free restaurants included in your cruise fare will satisfy all your cravings.

For example, you can head to the Windjammer for a wide variety of quick, self-serve, buffet foods from all over the world. Additionally, El Loco Fresh, which is conveniently located right on the pool deck, is a perfect food option if you want some poolside guacamole, quesadillas, nachos or burritos.

Lastly, of course, there’s the main dining room, where you can experience luxurious 3-course meals every day without paying a single extra dime. I recommend trying both the main dining room breakfast and dinner at least once during your sailing.

Oasis Of The Seas Pictures Of Drinks

Lastly, this wouldn’t be a complete Oasis Of The Seas photos guide without mentioning the impressive drink selection on board. Whether you purchase the basic soda package, refreshments package, or splurge on the alcohol package, poolside and in-theater drinks will become one of your favorite cruise qualities.

The soda package includes Coke Freestyle machine beverages. Whereas, the refreshments beverage package includes all non-alcoholic drinks, including mocktails, bottled water and a limited Starbucks menu at Cafe Promenade. Obviously, the alcohol packages include all of the above plus select alcohols.
