My EXACT 1-day Tokyo itinerary 🗼🇯🇵🍣 W My EXACT 1-day Tokyo itinerary 🗼🇯🇵🍣

While it’s quite literally impossible to see all of Tokyo in one day (after all, it is the world’s largest metropolitan area), we saw A LOT in just one day. See our exact itinerary screenshot on the second photo.

Couple of tips:

🌞Start your day EARLY. Not only do you have a lot to see during your one day in Tokyo, but the crowds are crazy. Start early to avoid the overwhelming crowds as long as possible.

🚊Tokyo’s subway is super efficient, clean (it doesn’t even smell like subway) and easy to navigate if you’ve used public transportation in other major cities. Use Google Maps for routes, lines and platform numbers. Follow the arrows on the ground to make sure your walking with the crowds and not against.

🍣Eat all the food. Conveyor belt sushi is super fun. ICHIRAN ramen bowls are chefs-kiss.

🛍️Konbinis (AKA convenience stores) are everywhere and are a super easy, quick and affordable way to get meals, snacks, etc. Lawsons, 7-Elevens and FamilyMarts are the most popular konbinis. We ate at Lawson or 7-Eleven for breakfast and coffee every morning of our Japan trip.

Alys Beach, Florida

Alys Beach, Florida, is essentially the Mykonos of the United States. It is a coastal 30A beach town filled to the brim with picturesque white homes and buildings, which aesthetically contrast the aquamarine ocean water. If you’re looking for the ultimate luxury beach experience, Alys Beach is ready to host you. Some of the best things to do in Alys Beach include beach lounging, shopping, and biking through the town’s nature preserve.

Chicago, Illinois

best places to visit in the us in april

Chicago, Illinois, is one of the largest cities in the United States and, therefore, is home to some of the best tourist attractions and museums in the entire country. In April, Chicago is plenty warm to explore without layers, but not too hot or humid yet. The best things to do in Chicago include Millennium Park, Cloud Gate (“The Bean“), an architecture river cruise, Lincoln Park beach and tasting legendary Chicago deep dish pizza at Giordano’s. Plus, unlike most major big cities, Chicago is very clean and well-maintained.

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

best places to visit in spring usa

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, boasts a marvelous turquoise sandy beach, homestyle southern food and dolphins galore. Unlike the beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, Hilton Head Island offers a uniquely preppy East Coast spin on seaside towns. The best things to do in Hilton Head Island include a sunset dolphin cruise, Coligny Beach Park, Folly Field Beach Park and the Harbour Town Lighthouse.

Holland, Michigan

best places to visit in usa

Holland, Michigan, is the Netherlands of the Americas. Every year, Holland is filled with rows and rows of tulip fields, mimicking the yearly draw to the Netherlands. However, instead of paying thousands to fly to Europe, you can see both colorful tulip fields and authentic Dutch windmills in this under-the-radar midwestern town. Plus, because the Holland Tulip Time Festival isn’t until the first week of May, you will skip the crowds in April. The best things to do in Holland, Michigan, include Windmill Island Gardens, Nelis’ Dutch Village, Veldheer Tulip Gardens and Holland State Park.

Jackson, Wyoming

best places to visit in usa top 10

Jackson, Wyoming, otherwise known as Jackson Hole, is home to the jaw-dropping Grand Teton National Park and Teton mountain range. Surprisingly, this western cowboy village, which offers plenty of hiking and outdoor adventure, still gives and element of luxury and prestige. Many celebrities, such as Kanye West, Harrison Ford, Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt, own property here. The best things to do in Jackson, Wyoming, include exploring Grand Teton National Park, wandering Mormon Row and hiking to Delta Lake.

Kanab, Utah

Kanab, Utah, is purely a hub of adventure. From Pink Sand Dunes State Park to the Moqui Sand Caves to the Belly of the Dragon, Kanab has some of the most unique things to do in Utah. Additionally, this southern Utah town provides easy access to neighboring adventures like Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon National Park and Page, Arizona.

Whether you want to lay out on the clear Maui beaches, snorkle with sea turtles or hike through a jungle, Maui has plenty in store for you. The best things to do in Maui include Makena Beach, the Road to Hana, Haleakala National Park and hiking the Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

best places to visit in the usa

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is wonderful in April. As the fresh spring air gives way to blossoming flowers, Lake Michigan is thawed and the city becomes alive with joyful locals. The best things to do in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, include touring the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Public Museum, Discovery World, Bradford Beach and Atwater Beach. Furthermore, if you stay in Milwaukee, you won’t want to miss a stay at the presidential Pfister Hotel, the fanciest hotel in Wisconsin — and one of the most haunted hotels in the world.

Moab, Utah

top places to visit in the us

Moab, Utah, is one of the most otherworldly places on Earth. From unreal red rock formations and natural arches to massive canyons and more, Moab will leave you wondering if you’re on Mars. In April, the desert isn’t dangerously hot yet, which makes April an ideal month to visit. The best things to do in Moab include Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Corona Arch and trekking to Utah’s rainbow mountains.

New York, New York

best cities to visit in usa

New York City, New York, in contrast to the desert, is nicknamed the concrete jungle for a reason. Towering skyscrapers, big bright lights and city noises will compete for your attention. The best things to do in New York City include seeing a broadway show, visiting Times Square, climbing the Empire State Building and taking a ferry to the Statue of Liberty.

Newport, Rhode Island

Newport, Rhode Island, is a quaint east coast town perfect for both the history buff and the European castle lover. Home to historic billionaire mansions, Rhode Island gives you a subtle hint into 1900s upper class living. Meanwhile, the seaside town oozes US history at Fort Adams. The best things to do in Newport include The Breakers mansion, The Elms mansion, Marble House and Bowen’s Wharf.

Oahu, Hawaii

Oahu, Hawaii, in April is stunning, thanks to the spring heat and smaller shoulder season crowds. Whether you want to hit the beach at Waikiki, journey through Jurassic Park at Kualoa Ranch or engulf yourself in history at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, Oahu is sure to simultaneously keep you entertained and relaxed.

Orlando, Florida

vacation spots in united states

Orlando, Florida, home to Walt Disney World, is one of the best places to visit in the US in April. Spring break crowds have simmered down. Summer crowds have yet to come. And, the heat isn’t completely unbearable yet. Although Disney World will always be at least a little crowded, the magical memories made are worth the trip. The best things to do in Disney World Orlando include Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom, as well as Universal Studios.

Page, Arizona

vacation destinations in the us

Page, Arizona, like much of the southwest USA, has plenty of epic adventures in store. From the otherworldly slot canyons to one of the most famous boating destinations in the country, Page is a fantastic US travel destination in April — and year-round. The best things to do in Page include Horseshoe Bend, boating on Lake Powell, and the upper and/or lower Antelope Canyons.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

usa travel destinations

San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a fantastic international alternative for US travelers. A passport isn’t necessary to visit. The rich culture, colorful architecture, glittery beaches and historical fortresses ensure you’ll have a fabulous itinerary. The best things to do in San Juan include Old San Juan, Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristobal or El Yunque Rainforest.

Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia, is the up-and-coming New Orleans — without the filth — complete with southern culture, food and attractions. It is quite a glamorous swap for swamp country, especially in April before the summer heat hits. The best things to do in Savannah include Forsyth Park, the Owens-Thomas house and slave quarters, the Savannah Historic District, Bonaventure Cemetery and the American Prohibition Museum.

Sedona, Arizona

best places to visit in us in april

Sedona, Arizona, remains one of the best US hiking destinations year after year — and for good reason. This red rock mountain town is filled with gorgeous hikes for all hiking levels. The best hikes to take in Sedona include Devil’s Bridge, Subway Cave, the Birthing Cave and Soldier’s Pass. Otherwise, if hiking isn’t your forte, there are plenty of vineyards to keep you entertained.

Springdale, Utah

best places to visit in the us in april

Springdale, Utah, similarly holds some of the best hikes in the US. Located just outside of the Zion National Park borders, some of the best hikes to take in Springdale include Angel’s Landing (the most dangerous hike in the US), the Narrows and Zion Canyon Overlook trail. Nearby Springdale, you can also visit Bryce Canyon National Park.

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

best places to visit in spring usa

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, is one of the best islands in the US. It’s also home to some of most pristine, exotic beaches in the entire world. Magen’s Bay beach will fool you into believing you’re on the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Whereas, the waters of Sapphire Beach resemble those of Bora Bora. Although this island is a US territory similar to Puerto Rico, not a state, this best places to visit in the USA in April list wouldn’t be complete without St. Thomas.

Tucson, Arizona

best places to visit in usa

Tucson, Arizona, is the perfect getaway for anyone in search of a unique trip. It’s filled with sunsets, walks with a view and a desert that exudes an unexpected romantic feel. West Yellowstone, Montana
