Kalahari Indoor Waterpark
First and foremost, Kalahari company is known for indoor waterparks galore, and Kalahari Wisconsin Dells is no exception. In fact, this property is home to one of America’s largest indoor waterparks, featuring exciting water attractions for family members of all ages.
The indoor waterpark has several thrill rides, including the Master Blaster (blue ride), Tanzanian Twister (funnel ride) the Screaming Hyena (floor drop slide), as well a variety of tame family-friendly rides. Furthermore, some of the most popular attractions include the wave pool, tropical lazy river, as well as a FlowRider surfing simulator. There are plenty of shallow water play areas to keep small tikes safely entertained. For adults over the age of 21, there’s the Thirsty Turtle swim-up bar with an indoor-outdoor pool on the park’s back wall.
As you can see, there is an attraction fit for every age.
Kalahari Outdoor Waterpark
Likewise, Kalahari Wisconsin Dells is also home to an impressive outdoor waterpark. Whereas the indoor waterpark is open year-round rain or shine, you can expect the seasonal outdoor waterpark to open for the season starting Memorial Day weekend every year.
The Kalahari’s outdoor waterpark features a second lazy river, plenty more exciting inner tube and body slides and more. Don’t miss your chance at tubing down the Swahili Swirl and The Smoke That Thunders rides during your summer stay.
Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park
Although its waterparks put the Kalahari on the map, this resort offers so much more. For example, Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park is an enormous indoor amusement park and arcade.
Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park includes hundreds of attractions. Here, you find:
- An indoor ferris wheel.
- Multiple thrilling drop rides.
- Hundreds of arcade games.
- A full prize store.
- A ropes course with a zip line.
- Go karts.
- Axe throwing.
- A golf simulator.
- A miniature rollercoaster.
- And SO MUCH more.
Blacklight Mini Golf
One of the additional attractions at Tom Foolery’s is the blacklight mini golf course. The 9-hole course boasts a fun neon jungle theme and costs only $5 per person. To play, all you have to do is purchase a game card with the proper amount preloaded game credits. Just tell the associate you have X number people playing mini golf. You do not need to purchase an entire Tom Foolery’s day pass to play.
Note, the Kalahari is a cashless resort, so make sure you come prepared with a debit card/credit card. Or, be ready to make charges to your room. You can easily make charges to your Kalahari room by scanning your resort wristband at any check-out counter.
Cosmic Bowling
Furthermore, the adventure park also features an entire cosmic bowling alley located upstairs. Lane, ball and shoe rental are readily available like a full operating bowling alley. The upstairs also is much quieter than the downstairs arcade area, with plenty of open seating and work space if you’re waiting for your arcade-gaming kids.
Mini Bowling
Alternatively, down the hallway from the full-size bowling alley is an old-western-themed mini bowling alley. As you could imagine, the mini bowling is much cheaper (yet shorter) than the full-size bowling. To play mini bowling, load a game card at the kiosk next to the mini bowling alley with the appropriate amount of credits per player. At the time of publishing this article, mini bowling cost $5 per player, same as blacklight mini golf.
Spa Kalahari & Salon
After the waterparks and arcade soak up your energy, schedule time to relax at Spa Kalahari & Salon. Tucked away behind the resort’s Build-A-Bear Workshop, Spa Kalahari & Spa offers a vast spa menu with treatments such as messages, manicures and pedicures, hair styling, hair removal, facials and more. You can find the full spa menu and current pricing here.
Halotherapy Salt Therapy Room
Additionally, Spa Kalahari & Salon is home to a unique Halotherapy salt therapy room, a therapeutic room that detoxifies your respiratory system from the inside out. The rejuvenating room is dimly lit, filled with a floor of soft Himalayan pink salt and walled with Himalayan pink salt blocks. This room was a new experience for us, and it was so relaxing that my husband fell happily asleep in his reclining Halotherapy chair.
Eat At The Kalahari Restaurants
Obviously, you’ll work up quite the appetite from all of your Kalahari play time, too. So, don’t miss out on tasting the decadent foods of the Kalahari restaurants. Some of the best restaurants in the Wisconsin Dells are housed inside the Kalahari, including Double Cut Steak House, Cinco Ninos (the resort’s newest and happiest Mexican restaurant on property), Wisconsin Brew Pub (classic American bistro), Redd’s Piano Bar, as well as plenty of waterpark dining options, sweet treats, room service and a Starbucks-serving cafe.
We ate at the Wisconsin Brew Pub during our stay, and the barbecue wings were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The milkshakes looked to-die-for too. But, somewhat reluctantly, I opted for a dairy-free, gluten-free sorbet from The Last Bite instead for my sensitive stomach’s sake. The Last Bite is located in the lobby, just past the self-service check-in kiosks, and serves a bright array of candies, ice creams and homemade treats.
Of course, I also couldn’t resist a Venti Pink Drink from the Starbucks-serving Java Manjaro cafe. There are plenty of quick to-go bites and delicious desserts you can order here too. Although, note that you will have to pay a little extra for the convenience of not having to leave the resort for your morning joe. The Pink Drink was refreshing, nonetheless!
AMC Movie Theatre
Finally, if you’re looking for late-night things to do at Kalahari Wisconsin Dells, the connected AMC movie theatre is the perfect choice. It’s a full-size movie theatre complete with popcorn, candy and a dozen large theater rooms. When we visited, we saw an adorable Garfield movie. This was an ideal way to end a fun, busy day at the Wisconsin Dell’s Kalahari Resort.
