What To Wear To Lambeau Field In Fall

After living just 30 minutes away from Lambeau Field nearly my entire life, my husband and I finally attended a Packer game last fall. We went in mid October, which meant we had the most iconic fall football weather: chilly and windy. To make sure we were as comfortable outside as possible, we dressed in extra warm Packer colors, including my long green coat, green mittens, Packer hoodie, long pants and a vintage Packer baseball hat like this one. Of course, if you’re braving Lambeau Field as an opponent’s fan, you can opt for your home team’s colors instead too.
When planning what to wear to Lambeau Field in fall, it’s important to dress in extra warm layers and a coat, even in the moderate fall weather, as you’ll be sitting on cold metal bleachers and outside for at least 3-4 hours total.
What To Wear To Lambeau Field In Winter

Likewise, Wisconsin winters are no joke. I’ve lived in northeast Wisconsin almost my entire life, so trust me when I say that the winter weather here can be extreme. Frostbite is a real threat, not to mention the discomfort you feel from negative temperatures and painful windchills.
When planning what to wear to Lambeau Field in winter, I highly recommend wearing an extra long down jacket over plenty of layers. Wearing long underwear and other base layers under your pants and sweatshirt will help retain as much body heat as possible. A winter Packer hat that covers your ears, mittens or gloves, and a scarf are essential. Additionally, I suggest wearing a coat with a hood because the hood will help block the wind from hitting your face during the game.
Moreover, most people bring hand warmers to winter Packer game days to keep in their mittens, boots and/or pockets. You can buy cheap disposable hand warmers to last during game time. They work well. Or, you can get these HotSnapZ reusable hand warmers that we own. All you have to do is snap the button on the hand warmer to activate the hardened gel heat. And, when you’re done using the hand warmers, you boil the hand warmers to restore them to their cool gel state.
In addition, many Wisconsinites, including myself and my husband, own heated apparel for winter, which are the perfect outfit addition for cold weather in Lambeau Field. I own this rechargeable Milwaukee zip-up sweatshirt, and it is fantastic. My husband wears this Milwaukee heated vest.
What To Wear To Lambeau Field In Summer
On the contrary, perhaps you’re visiting Lambeau Field in the hot Wisconsin summertime. If you’re lucky enough to attend a preseason game in the sweltering summer months, you definitely won’t want to wear your full-length coat and mittens to Lambeau Field. Instead, you should plan to wear shorts, a Packer short-sleeve shirt, Packer jersey, tank top, sunglasses and a cap to keep the sun out of your face.
Likewise, I highly recommend bringing a rechargeable portable handheld fan like this one that I have to keep you cool while you’re in the hot sun. I never travel to hot destinations without this fan. The battery lasts for hours, and if it dies, you can plug it into a portable phone charger to keep the fan running. Like frostbite, heat sickness is also a threat in Green Bay, and the Wisconsin humidity should not be taken lightly. Remember to stay hydrated, especially if you’re planning to drink like a Wisconsinite!

Lastly, maybe you’re visiting Lambeau Field for the long-awaited 2025 NFL Draft. The draft is set to occur in Lambeau Field at the end of April, which means you’ll likely be missing the cold winter weather (although, Wisconsin is no stranger to a random April snow storm), but the summer heat won’t have kicked in yet either.
So, when wondering what to wear to Lambeau Field in spring, light layers, such as long pants, team short-sleeves and a team sweatshirt are typical Wisconsin spring outfits. You shouldn’t have to worry about humidity yet. If anything, you may encounter an April rain shower, so a travel-friendly umbrella like this one that I have isn’t a bad idea. If the forecast predicts continuous rain during the NFL Draft, a green poncho or Packer rain jacket would be smart to pack as well.
