Cruising to Labadee, Haiti? Get ready for a full day of beach lounging, tropical drinks, jungle activities and Haitian paradise. Here’s everything you need to know about Labadee Haiti Beach.
What To Know About Labadee Haiti Beach
Labadee, a peninsula off the northern coast of Haiti, is a private port that the Royal Caribbean cruise line owns. Only Royal Caribbean guests and staff can access the peninsula. And, due to security, they cannot leave the peninsula’s port area without an excursion tour guide.
The beach on Labadee, Labadee Haiti Beach, is separated by rock barriers into five different beach areas: Adrenaline Beach, Dragon’s Beach, Barefoot Beach Club, Nellie’s Beach and Columbus Cove.
You can find a map of Labadee, with all of its beach areas, here. Each beach area caters to a different type of vacationer.
Best Beach In Labadee Haiti
The beach beach in Labadee, Haiti, is Adrenaline Beach, thanks to its fantastic amenities (beach chairs, beach swings, floating bar, day bed rentals and more) and free access (as opposed to the Barefoot Beach Club).
Adrenaline Beach
Adrenaline Beach is particularly perfect for adults, thanks to its floating bar feature, day bed rentals, beach swings, calm swimming conditions and overall relaxing energy. Whether you want to nap in the sunshine, try a legendary Labadoozie or capture the perfect Instagram picture, Adrenaline beach offers true paradise.
(Note, water surrounding the floating bar is grassy and rocky, so bringing water shoes may be a good idea.)
Dragon’s Beach
Dragon’s Beach, adjacent to Adrenaline Beach, is a great family beach if you’re looking for an ocean view. However, the water is not as conducive to swimming conditions.
Instead, Dragon’s Beach is home to the kids Splash Bash water play area, a volleyball court and floating beach mat rentals.
Barefoot Beach Club
Barefoot Beach Club, contrary to Adrenaline Beach and Dragon’s Beach, is located on the lagoon side of Labadee and, thus, faces the Haitian mountains instead of the ocean.
Even though Barefoot Beach Club is arguably the most relaxing beach on Labadee, it is also the most exclusive. It is only open to grand suite (and above) guests and pinnacle Royal Caribbean members.
Nellie’s Beach
Next, Nellie’s Beach, which is situated next to Barefoot Beach Club, is also facing the Haitian mountains and peninsula lagoon. But, unlike Barefoot Beach Club, Nellie’s Beach is open to all Royal Caribbean guests.
Nellie’s Beach is unique in comparison to the other Labadee Haiti Beach areas, as it is home to various Haitian ruins and walking paths. You can also rent luxury cabanas here, but I recommend saving your money for a week in a Bora Bora overwater bungalow instead, which doesn’t cost much more with Costco Travel.
Columbus Cove
Finally, Columbus Cove also resides on the lagoon side of Labadee, which means you’ll find fantastic mountain views, soft sands and calm lagoon water that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
Moreover, Columbus Cove is not as popular as Adrenaline Beach or Dragon’s Beach, so it is much more secluded. Plus, in-ocean swings can be found here, too.
If you’re traveling with young family members and would like to swim in the ocean, Columbus Cove and Nellie’s Beach will be your best bet for safe family-friendly swimming conditions.
Are beach chairs free on Labadee?
Yes, the beach chairs are free on Labadee, Haiti.
Although the cabanas and day beds are an extra charge on Labadee, the beach chairs are free for all Royal Caribbean guests to use.
The beaches do become busy throughout the day, though, and the beach chairs are first come first serve. So, if you want a front-row chair, it’s best to get off the ship as early as possible to claim your chairs.
Does Labadee have a pool?
Unlike CocoCay, Labadee does not have a pool.
However, Labadee does have multiple beach areas, as discussed above, as well as numerous tropical activities, such as zip lining, mountain coaster riding and hammocking.
