Costco Travel Cruise Review: Is It Really Worth It?

August 25, 2025 · In: Europe, Hotel Reviews, Norway

Debating on booking a cruise through Costco Travel? Wondering if booking a cruise through Costco Travel really worth it? In this Costco Travel cruise review, I’m dishing the gossip about my most recent Norway sailing booked through Costco Travel, including whether it was worth it, how much it cost, the package inclusions and more.

Overall Costco Travel Cruise Review

Overall, I had a fantastic experience booking my Norwegian fjords cruise through Costco Travel. The booking process was easy, the cost was ridiculously cheap, and the package inclusions were very competitive. Unlike our third-party booking to the Maldives, we had zero hiccups when it came to checking in or redeeming our package inclusions, which I’ll talk about later.

On this trip, I went to Norway with my mom and sisters, and, thanks to our great first impression of Costco Travel cruises, we all regularly check Costco Travel’s website for more cruise deals now. While my youngest sister wasn’t too fond of the cruise experience outside of Costco’s control (she prefers slower paced travel), the rest of us would book another Costco Travel cruise in a heartbeat. Even so, I don’t think my youngest sister would turn down another Costco Travel cruise if the rest us booked one together.

Costco Travel Cruise Review: Is It Really Worth It?

How Much Does A Costco Travel Cruise Cost?

This begs the questions: how much does a Costco Travel cruise cost? Is the cost worth it? How much is a Costco Travel cruise in comparison to booking directly with the cruise line? Well, the short answer is: it depends.

Every Costco Travel cruise costs a different price depending on the destination, cruise line, length of sailing, dates of sailing and package inclusions — just like any cruise price. It is true that Costco Travel offers a variety of insane cruise deals that are extremely cheap compared to similar sailings. However, although some packages are discounted, not all packages are discounted. Even though you may get some additional package inclusions by booking through Costco Travel, it is usually worth shopping around and comparing prices first.

That being said, if you check Costco Travel’s cruise deals regularly, you’re likely to score a fantastic deal eventually, as new deals pop up often. I’ll give you a few tips on finding the cheapest Costco Travel cruise deals soon.

For example, we booked a 7-day Norwegian fjords cruise sailing on Royal Caribbean in June in a balcony stateroom. The average cost of a 7-day Norwegian fjords cruise sailing on Royal Caribbean in peak summer months hovers around $1500 USD per person before tax, gratuities and stateroom upgrades. Our Costco Travel cruise package only cost $891 per person before tax, for a total of $996.28 per person with taxes and fees. That means, our package was over 40% off without even considering the bonus package inclusions!

Norway Cruise Package Inclusions

In addition to amazing savings, most Costco Travel cruise packages offer additional package inclusions as incentives to book through Costco Travel. Here’s what our Norway cruise package included per stateroom (we booked two staterooms for a total of four guests) to give you an idea of some inclusions to look for.

  • $115 digital Costco shop card.
  • Lunch or dinner at Johnny Rockets for up to four guests.
  • Kirkland Signature amenities upon availability.
  • One spa experience for two.
  • One specialty dining experience for two.
  • $50 onboard credit.

Additionally, our cruise sailing itinerary included ports of call at the following Norwegian fjord cities.

  • Day 0: Southampton, UK.
  • Day 1: Day at sea.
  • Day 2: Bergen, Norway.
  • Day 3: Flam, Norway.
  • Day 4: Olden, Norway.
  • Day 5: Stavanger, Norway.
  • Day 6: Day at sea.
  • Day 7: Southampton, UK.

Thanks to these incredible package inclusions, the four of us were able to eat at the onboard Johnny Rockets twice, each get a massage at the spa, dine at the coveted Wonderland specialty dining restaurant and put our onboard credits toward an upgraded drink package.

Obviously, between these package inclusions and the incredibly discounted package price, Costco Travel cruise packages can definitely be worth it. But, like I said, different packages pop up all the time. So, while you may not see a deal this good at first, it’s always worth checking again later.

Costco Travel Cruise Tips

Finally, here are few tips to find the best Costco Travel cruise deals. First, check Costco Travel’s website for new deals regularly. I find myself checking Costco Travel’s website or new deals around once a month. Second, be flexible with your destination, trip dates and preferred cruise lines if you can. This will always give you more deal options to choose from. Third, filter out your priority preferences, such as destination or trip dates, on the Costco Travel “cruises” tab. This will help narrow down your search. Lastly, filter the price results from low to high. Doing this will show you the cheapest deals first.

Do this once a month, and you’re sure to score a good Costco Travel cruise deal eventually. Want to learn more about booking through Costco Travel? Watch my full Costco Travel review on YouTube to see how I booked an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora through Costco.
