    Let's be friends!

It’s the Nordic blood in me. ❄️ Ironically, It’s the Nordic blood in me. ❄️

Ironically, we did happen to “escape the cold” during this winter Rocky Mountain National Park trip. It was -45 at home and literally 70 degrees warmer in the Colorado mountains hahaha.
Here’s our EXACT 3-day itinerary for Kyoto, Japa Here’s our EXACT 3-day itinerary for Kyoto, Japan, including our bullet train travel day. 🇯🇵 And, honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Tips…

Go to Fushimi Inari Shrine and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest as soon as it starts to get light out in the morning (I’m talking like 5:30 a.m.) if you want any shot at taking photos without crowds!

Also… The monkey park was my favorite. 🙊

Location: Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park

Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous paved road in the USA, peaking at over 12,180 feet of elevation. 🤯 As you could imagine, the road closes to vehicle traffic during the winter because of snow. BUT, you can still hike, snowshoe or cross-country ski on it in the winter!

We rented skis at Estes Park Mountain Shop, parked at the Many Parks Curve Overlook parking lot and skied away. ⛷️

Would you ski here?

This whole weekend we joked that we were “escaping the cold” on this winter Rocky Mountain National Park trip because it was around 25 degrees Fahrenheit there and -45 degrees in Wisconsin.

All of the Denver locals were like, “You picked a cold week to be here.” And we were like, “No no… We picked the perfect weekend to be here.” 🤣

Where To Stay In Sicily For Couples (Adler Spa Resort Sicilia)

By: Indigo Sahara, M.A. | Published: February 12, 2024 | Updated: February 19, 2024

When considering where to stay in Sicily for couples, there is no question that the Alder Spa Resort Sicilia is the most suitable Sicily resort for the job.

The modern beachfront property exudes romance, relaxation and rejuvenation all while promoting holistic well-being and meaningful connection for its guests.

From the secluded Sicilian spa and quiet infinity pools (plural) to the all-inclusive farm-to-table dining, Adler Spa Resort Sicilia offers an opportune getaway for couples from anywhere in the world.

Adler Spa Resort Sicilia Review

Location

The location of Adler Spa Resort Sicilia redefines seclusion. At the minor expense of a drive to and from the major airports (1.5 hours away from Palermo or 2.5 hours away from Catania), you’re rewarded with a glittery private Mediterranean beach and acres of modern luxury.

If you’re hoping to escape the hustle and bustle of city tourism and instead refresh your mind, body and soul on a quiet all-inclusive vacation, Adler is sure to deliver.

If you’re looking to explore outside the property (although, I happily could have stayed on property my entire stay), the resort is only a short 13 minute drive to the famous Torre Salsa Nature Reserve.

Plus, the Adler staff host daily excursions for an extra fee to iconic places like the Valley of the Temples, Sicilian cooking classes, authentic opportunities to interact with locals and more. All excursions include transportation and are led by kind, knowledgeable Sicilian tour guides who wear consistent smiles as they serve you.

Rooms

Carved inside the resort hillside, each modern bungalow awaits your stay, fully equipped with a spacious bathroom and bedroom, moody lighting, as well as thoughtful interior design elements whose clear intention is to put your mind at ease.

Upon entrance, you immediately feel a burden lift from your shoulders. Maybe it’s the fresh air from the massive sliding glass wall, or perhaps it’s the natural stone and wooden textures incorporated throughout the room. Either way, there is an inherent calming effect that takes place here — the Adler effect, if you will.

Moreover, don’t be afraid to walk around the resort in your hotel room robe. This is a cultural norm on property. So, skip packing a swimsuit cover, slide into the Adler robe, slip on those branded flip flops and proudly walk the property.

There are 90 suites in total, including 16 designated family suites to accommodate couples with children. Because of the specified number of family rooms, there is a naturally limited number of children on property at all times. So, you’re still sure to experience a quiet escape at this age-inclusive resort.

Amenities

As you walk the property, you’ll soon notice that the amenities at Adler Spa Resort Sicilia are both exceptional and endless. Although there is no minimum stay requirement outside high season, I personally recommend you spend a minimum of five nights here in order to take full advantage of every amenity.

Among the top Adler Spa Resort Sicilia amenities include but are not limited to: sunset view thalasso pool, three jetted infinity pools (two are heated year-round), an Olympic laps pool, outdoor yoga, routine fitness classes, authentic Finnish sauna, 15 incredible ocean-facing spa cabins, wellness classes and more.

Furthermore, the 7 kilometers of pristine private beach ensure the beach never feels crowded, even during peak season.

All of these amenities are included in your nightly rate. Additional amenities are available for a fee, such as Sicilian olive oil spa treatments, personalized weight loss trips, and nutrition tests conducted by the doctor on staff.

Clearly, wellness is at the forefront of the Adler company. There is no doubt you and your partner will leave this resort feeling both refreshed and reconnected.

Restaurants

All of your breakfasts and dinners are also accounted for in your nightly rate. However, these meals are by no means your average all-inclusive buffets.

Instead, you can expect an elaborate breakfast spread filled with Italian meats, cheeses, pastries and juices squeezed in house in the Sicilian sunshine. For dinner, you can expect a formally waited multi-course meal featuring local seafoods, pasta al dente, organic ingredients from their onsite garden, and a la carte antipasti and desserts.

Both the complimentary breakfasts and dinners are served at the main dining sea-view restaurant. Lunches are available to purchase at the osteria, a beautiful open-air dining space that is also equipped with a servant-hearted wait staff.

But, honestly, if you time your breakfast right, you’ll stay statisfied to dinner and won’t need to make the extra lunch purchases.

Sustainability

Speaking of farm-to-table cuisine, this Adler Spa Resort Sicilia review wouldn’t be complete without highlighting the honorable sustainability efforts this resort makes each day.

For example, the onsite garden mentioned earlier, which is located directly across from the resort lobby, provides organic ingredients the staff happily cultivate for every meal. Furthermore, this garden’s irrigation system recycles gray water from the guest rooms.

The resort hopes to be completely self-sufficient in solar-powered energy by the end of 2024.

In additional, to preserve the natural wildlife and native plants plotted throughout the resort’s landscaping, pets are not allowed on property.

Affordability

Given all these marvelous inclusions, you may be wondering whether or not your stay will cost a fortune. Season depending, budget at least $400 USD per room per night for Adler Spa Resort Sicilia.

Luckily, the resort hosts occasional special offers that can include excursions or spa treatments for a discounted price. You can explore these offers directly through their website here.

Although a weeklong stay would definitely be a splurge for most couples, the value-to-cost ratio is overall stupendous. Even as a budget-conscious traveler, I would pay to stay here again with my husband.

Have I convinced you that this is the best resort in Sicily for couples yet? If so, book your stay at Adler Spa Resort Sicilia here. Let me know you booked in the reply section below or by sending my a DM on Instagram. I’d love to hear about your upcoming trip!
